How it is possible for VivaAerobus to provide such low fares and still make a profit?

Many people are often curious because such a service has never been available in Mexico before. VivaAerobus uses modern cost optimization techniques such as quicker turnaround times and maximizing of flight utilization for our aircrafts.

We focus on reducing the cost of traditional air travel always maintaining the quality of our key elements: Safety, Service and Schedules. We can offer great value fares for the following reasons:

Ticket less. Traditional airline tickets cost a lot of money to print process and deliver to the customer, by saving on these costs it allows us to pass these savings to you. Instead of tickets, we will provide you with an itinerary which include your booking number, total cost and travel details upon completion of your booking. During check-in, you only need to mention the booking number and must present your National Identity Card  or passport for identification purposes.

No frills. Under the "no-frills" service, there are no complimentary meals or drinks. Instead, VivaAerobus customers will be given the choice of purchasing a variety of meals and drinks on board at very reasonable prices.

One class, free seating and boarding. Additionally, VivaAerobus operates a first-come-first-served boarding system that allows you to choose where you wish to sit once you are on board. This policy encourages passengers to board in the aircraft early and avoid customer related delays. We have boarding priority procedures to allow some passengers to board easily such passengers with special needs or families with children.

Frequent Flyer Programmes. Programmes such as these are expensive and targeted at specific customers only. Instead of providing this service for just a few people we would rather lower the cost of travel for everybody.

We take serious care of safety. The Mexican DGAC have completed a rigorous process of vetting the airline and is satisfied about our ability to serve Mexican people in a safe and cost efficient manner.

Is there a very simple fare explanation?
All fares are quoted one way to allow our customers the flexibility to choose where and when they would like to fly. vivaAerobus does not stipulate any restrictions to qualify for the cheapest fares; thus our tagline Mexico’s Low Fares Airline.

Our fares are based on supply and demand and prices usually increase as seats are sold on every flight. So, the earlier you book, the cheaper the fare will generally be. Our booking system continually reviews bookings for all future flights and tries to predict how popular each flight is likely to be. But, we will never offer low fares at the expense of what's important: the best pilots, ground staff and maintenance crew

Which are the ages for an infant, child and adult?

An infant is any child under the age of 2 (we offer a fixed rate of MX$50 per flight for infants)

A child is from 2 years and under 12 (we do not offer any child discount on fares)

An adult is any passenger aged 12 or over

Do you offer senior or children discount?

No

What are our fare levels?

We have a range of starting from MX$1, fares increase as our load factor increase and with the law of supply and demand with fewer seats available, prices increase.

How can your fares be lower than everyone else?

By utilising the proven low cost model, we will have greater efficiencies such as aircraft utilisation and staff productivity which allows us to have lower seat costs and we will pass these benefits onto our customers through lower fares.
