Mexican mariachi, food and folklore land at Austin

The “ultra low cost airline” connects Austin with one of Mexico’s hottest spots for just $49 USD.

As from today Austin would only be 1 hour and 20 minutes away from a destination full of adventure, great food and beautiful weather.

AUSTIN, TEXAS January 15, 2009 - VivaAerobus, “the ultra low cost airline” is pleased to announce that as from today a new route has started operations: Austin  -  Puerto Vallarta.

Puerto Vallarta becomes the third city in Mexico to be connected by VivaAerobus to Austin. Monterrey and Cancun services from Austin commenced in May 2008.

“This new service is the next step of increasing the connectivity between Austin and attractive cities and destinations in Mexico”, says Juan Carlos Zuazua, Commercial Director.

“This new route will provide another great tourist opportunity for the people of Austin and the broader catchment of Texas. Already vivaAerobus has been drawing passengers from the other major cities across Texas. There is no doubt that people are attracted to the incredibly low fares and our growing service and on-time reputation”.

Whilst the Puerto Vallarta route offers great tourism potential for US consumers, vivaAerobus is also bringing an increasingly large number of Mexicans into the United States. “Whether it be vacations, business or shopping sprees, we are helping to open up the US to Mexican travelers” added Zuazua.

As for Americans wishing to enjoy the splendor of Puerto Vallarta through Austin, they will be surprised by the wonders of this destination. Puerto Vallarta offers a wide array of attractions to leisure travelers, beginning with its spectacular beaches and weather, breadth of sporting and outdoor activities and a great nightlife. The destination combines ocean, mountains and tropical forests and a Mexican Pacific town rich in traditions and customs.

Not so long ago, traveling to such destinations, implied spending big bucks on flying or driving for many hours. Now flying to one of the most beautiful Mexican beaches is within everyone’s reach for just $49 USD.

The low fares offered by VivaAerobus make it a real and convenient option for passengers from all over Texas and the U.S. to travel to Mexico through Austin. Direct bus services are also available from Houston and San Antonio to the Austin airport so that people from these cities can easily experience the great low fares. Bus fares are $20.

Despite the tough situation currently faced by the aviation industry, VivaAerobus continues its strategic growth. Austin flights to Puerto Vallarta will be available Thursdays and Sundays.
