VivaAerobus announces new CEO
Mexico City, May 20th 2009.- VivaAerobus, Mexico´s low cost carrier, announces the appointment of Donal Rogers as CEO of VivaAerobus. Donal, who has been CFO for three years in the airline, and who was part of the start up team of the airline, will take over the reins from Mike Szucs in July of this year. Mike, who has led the airline through its start up phase and initial growth will be leaving vivaAerobus in July to take up the CEO position at Spain’s second largest carrier Spanair.
VivaAerobus’ Board recognizes Mike’s outstanding leadership. Along with Donal, he has led the most efficient and financially successful airline in Mexico, building a very solid platform for the authentic low cost Mexican airline with the lowest fares in the market. Mike will maintain his involvement with vivaAerobus by becoming a member of the Board of Directors
The CFO position has been appointed to Mr. Joel Echeverria, former CFO of Casa Ley, a leading supermarket group in the northwestern area of Mexico.
