Flight restrictions
Due to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic, air operations are constantly changing. We recommend staying informed about current flight restrictions before planning any trip and booking your flight.
Domestic flights
All passengers traveling in Mexico must use the México Vuela Seguro platform and fill out the health questionnaire. This document will be requested in digital or printed format on the day of your flight at airport security.
Take into account the following:
- Each passenger must fill out a form
- A questionnaire must be filled out for each flight
- We recommend filling it out 24 hours prior to your flight
International Flights
Flights to the United States
Due to the recent outbreak of COVID-19, the United States Department of Homeland Security has enacted the following safety and security measures:
All passengers traveling to the United States must present a negative PCR or antigen test result for COVID-19, in order to travel. This measure also applies to all travelers who have received the SARS-CoV-2 vaccine.

Boarding will also be denied to anyone that has visited the following countries, in the last 14 days, prior to your flight date:

These restrictions do not apply to:
- US citizens
- Lawful and permanent residents
- Airline crew members
- Passengers with official travel accreditations*
*Must be verified through documents issued by the US government, stating the passenger is exempt from restrictions, or has an official entry invitation related to the mitigation of COVID-19.
All passengers who have visited the countries listed above, and that could be affected by these regulations, will be able to make flight changes without cost to fly within the following 30 calendar days of their original flight date, as long as 14 days have passed since leaving their country of origin.
Traveling to New York
Per official policy, the government of New York State is requiring all passengers to complete the following questionnaire: https://forms.ny.gov/s3/Welcome-to-New-York-State-Traveler-Health-Form
Traveling to Los Angeles
Los Angeles County, California, requires all passengers, over the age of 16, traveling to the city to complete the following online form prior to their arrival at the airport: https://travel.lacity.org/
Not completing this form is sanctioned with a fine of up to $500 USD.

Flights to Cuba
As of January 1st, 2021, the government of Cuba is restricting flights from Mexico, the United States, and other countries to prevent the spread of COVID-19.
Also, as of January 10th, 2021, the Cuban Ministry of Health is requiring all passengers to present a medical certificate with a negative RT-PCR test for SARS-CoV2, taken within 72 hours prior to arrival into Cuba.
Flights to Canada
Non-essential flights between Mexico and Canada are suspended. If your travel is essential, check the following restrictions:
By official provision of the Government of Canada, as of January 6, 2021, all passengers, over 5 years of age, traveling to Canada must present a negative molecular COVID-19 test result (PCR, RT-PCR, NAAT, LAMP, or RT-LAMP) which has been taken no more than 72 hours prior to their scheduled flight departure.
Before the flight, you must submit your travel information using the ArriveCAN application or directly on their website, in addition to a mandatory 14-day quarantine upon arrival in Canada.
In addition to these requirements, upon arrival in Canada, you must comply with the following measures:
- Remain in quarantine for 14 days, even if you do not have COVID-19 symptoms
- Isolate for 14 days, if you have or develop COVID-19 symptoms
These measures are mandatory and failure to comply can lead to fines, penalties, or imprisonment.
Part of your quarantine must be completed for three nights in a hotel authorized by the Government of Canada. Upon completing your 14-day quarantine, you will be subject to a new COVID-19 molecular test.
Traveling to Toronto
All passengers traveling to Toronto will be required to present a negative COVID-19 molecular test upon arrival. Passengers with connecting flights, with layovers less than one day, are exempt.
Important: All expenses incurred due to these health measures are at your own expense and as a traveler, you must show that you have a “quarantine plan”.
