Mexico City; June 26 2018.-Viva Aerobus, Mexico´s ultra-low-cost airline, in partnership with Avenger Flight Group (AFG), announced the development of a new Flight Crew Training Center near the airline´s headquarters in Monterrey. This is part of a new agreement signed with AFG, which will provide training services to Viva Aerobus crew during the next 10 years.
This new center, located in the Flexpark Industrial Complex, will be specifically designed to meet the needs of Viva Aerobus. It will house multiple offices, classrooms, conference rooms and briefing rooms needed to support training for all VivaAerobus’ pilots, cabin attendants and maintenance personnel.
Additionally, AFG will also provide the relevant number of A320 Level D Full Flight Simulators. These simulators have advanced technology that places them at the highest standard in terms of realism, above 90%. In this sense, the crew will train in a replica of the cabin of Viva Aerobus´s aircraft. The simulator will have a wide range of scenarios including meteorological variations and particularities of different airports, reproducing visually and with a mechanic system, these diverse conditions. Therefore, the crew strengthens their skills in any scenario. Likewise, there will be a door and slide simulator for the specific training of flight attendants.
The first flight simulator, unique in Monterrey, is expected to be delivered in September 2018, thus the center can start operations, completely, no later than January 2019.
“Training our crew with this highly advanced technology increases our efficiency, boosts the professional development of our collaborators and ensures a service above safety standards, all for the benefit of our passengers”, said Adrián Torija, Operations Director of Viva Aerobus.
This new contract with AFG responds to three commitments of Viva Aerobus. First, to reinforce a 100% reliable service that meets the highest standards in terms of security and professionalism; in line with a customer-focused strategy.
Secondly, a strategic training serves the increasing demand of Viva Aerobus passengers. Thus, it is possible to train the growing crew with high performance standards. In fact, between January and May 2018, Viva Aerobus reported a 25% increase in the number of passengers compared to the same period of the previous year. Additionally, in response to this growth and as part of its expansion strategy, the airline is expanding its fleet of 25 aircraft to 55 Airbus A320 by 2022.
Third, these activities strengthen the ultra-low-cost model of Viva Aerobus. The airline constantly implements new technologies to maintain an offer characterized by the most competitive prices and costs in the market, thanks to a high operational efficiency based, fundamentally, on the experience and commitment of the crew. With this new training center, it will be possible to further optimize training processes and encourage more efficient management of staff performance.
“We are extremely honored to have been selected by VivaAerobus to be their training partner for such a prestigious part of their operation. We are focused on providing to VivaAerobus a high degree of customer service and most advanced simulation equipment and facilities, specifically tailored toward a low-cost operator”, mentioned AFG’s President, Pedro Sors.
