Mexico City, May 7, 2020. - Viva Aerobus, Mexico´s ultra-low-cost carrier, reports its monthly passenger figures corresponding to April 2020. The airline registered 134 thousand passengers this month, a decrease of 85.9% compared to April 2019 caused by the declared health emergency in the country following the COVID-19 out-break. The load factor was 77.5%, 11.2 percentage points less than the same month last year.
Regarding the accumulated total for the year (January-April 2020), Viva Aerobus reported more than 2.9 million passengers and an average load factor of 84.4%. These results, compared to the accumulat-ed January – April 2019, implied a decrease of 11.2% in terms of passengers and a decrease of 4.6 per-centage points in the load factor.
