VIVA AEROBUS REPORTS MONTLY PASSENGER TRAFFIC: 1.36M Pax; +31% vs June 2019 and LF of 88%

Mexico City, July 6, 2021. - Viva Aerobus exceeded, for second time in a row, its monthly passenger all-time record with more than 1.36 million passengers registered in June 2021, a 31% increase vs. June 2019, surpassing pre-pandemic demand levels; and with an 88.1% passenger load factor.

“Besides being one of the first airlines to exceed pre-pandemic levels, we surpassed, once again, our monthly passenger record, during a covid-19 crisis. More than 1.36 million passengers trusted our unmatched value proposition composed of: strict health controls, lowest fares, on-time flights, and the youngest Mexican fleet,” said Juan Carlos Zuazua, CEO of Viva Aerobus.

Year to date passengers registered from January to June 2021 totaled more than 6.43 million passengers, a 19.3 % increase vs. 2019.

  • ASK (Available Seat Kilometers): Seat available for sale that flies 1 kilometer (regardless of whether it is occupied or not).
  • RPK (Revenue Passenger Kilometers): Indicates the total distance flown by passengers who paid for their transport in kilometers. It is the measure of the total traffic of passengers who paid for flying (excludes courtesies, employees, etc.).
  • Load Factor: Represents the percentage of reserved seats in an aircraft or fleet in a certain period.
