VIVA AEROBUS INCREASED 4.4% ITS LOAD FACTOR VS JANUARY 2021

Mexico City, March 5, 2021. - VViva Aerobus, Mexico´s ultra-low-cost carrier, reported that in February 2021 it registered a 76.7% load factor, 4.4 percentage points more than last January, as a result of its strategic operation to meet the needs of safe and affordable air transportation according to the market recovery trends.

Under this commitment, Viva Aerobus continues expanding its capacity, measured in seats per availa-ble kilometers (ASKs), reaching a 9.3% growth compared to the capacity offered in February 2020.

Therefore, with a service attached to rigorous prevention and hygiene measures, this month the air-line launched its new non-strop flights Cancun - Acapulco, being the first route to be announced this year for the sake of a responsible and safe reactivation of the aviation and tourist sectors in Mexico.

Regarding the number of passengers, this February Viva registered more than 645 thousand, a de-crease of 23.2% compared to January 2021, as a result of the effects of the current COVID-19 pandemic on the demand for flights.

Glossary

  • Passengers: People who purchased their plane ticket to fly during the month referred in the report, regardless whether or not if they flew.
  • ASK (Available Seat Kilometers): Seat available for sale that flies 1 kilometer (regardless of whether it is occupied or not).
  • RPK (Revenue Passenger Kilometers): Indicates the total distance flown by passengers who paid for their transport in kilometers. It is the measure of the total traffic of passengers who paid for flying (excludes courtesies, employees, etc.).
  • Load Factor: Represents the percentage of reserved seats in an aircraft or fleet in a certain period.
