21.5% PASSENGER GROWTH VS APRIL 2019, LOAD FACTOR OF 82%

Mexico City, May 6, 2021.- Viva Aerobus, Mexico’s ultra-low-cost carrier, reported more than 1.15 million passengers in April 2021, a 21.5% increase vs. April 2019, improving pre-pandemic demand levels. Load factor reached 82.3%, showing a gradual recovery.

We will continue working to offer a service that looks out for everyone’s well-being, with the best fares, the best customer service, the most modern aircraft and with all COVID-19 protocols to take care of all our staff and passengers’ health", said Juan Carlos Zuazua, CEO of Viva Aerobus.

Year to date passengers (January 2021 – April 2021) totaled more than 3.7 million passengers, an 11.2% increase vs. 2019.

  • Passengers: People who purchased their plane ticket to fly during the month referred in the report, regardless whether or not if they flew.
  • Load Factor: Represents the percentage of reserved seats in an aircraft or fleet in a certain period.
  • ASK (Available Seat Kilometers): Seat available for sale that flies 1 kilometer (regardless of whether it is occupied or not).
  • RPK (Revenue Passenger Kilometers): Indicates the total distance flown by passengers who paid for their transport in kilometers. It is the measure of the total traffic of passengers who paid for flying (excludes courtesies, employees, etc.).
